What is good design?

“I would say certainly it’s design that will last.
I’m not keen on creating work that looks faddish and that could look dated down the line. That can be difficult to avoid but generally that’s my approach. I love some early modernist buildings and how work made seventy years ago can still look relevant today, I think that is amazing.
Style is of course personal and what is beautiful to each of us is subjective; sometimes it takes a nuanced approach to work out what a client really loves, but that can be an enjoyable process.
I need there to be integrity in the design; in the materials used and also in how it’s built - is it fit for purpose?”
